In the morning on October 26, Governor Tokihiro Nakamura of Ehime Prefecture agreed to restarting the Ikata-3 Nuclear Power Plant (PWR, 890MWe), owned and operated in the prefecture by the Shikoku Electric Power Co.
He conveyed his agreement in a meeting with President Hayato Saeki of the power company at the prefectural government offices.
Ikata Town, the site of the Ikata-3 NPP, has already agreed. All procedures to obtain agreements from the local communities – the major requirement – have now been completed.
Restart is expected to come early next year.
