Dr. Bigot, as Director General, with consummate skill and dedication, led the ITER Organization for seven years and has contributed greatly to the progress of the ITER project.
Prior to his appointment at ITER, he served as Chairman and CEO of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). He made significant contributions to Japan-France nuclear cooperation as the French representative to the Japan-France Nuclear Energy Expert Meeting (N-20).
His passing is felt deeply and is a loss for the world.
We cannot but grieve and pray for the repose of his soul.
