The global momentum for proactive utilization of nuclear power is stronger than ever, with various efforts underway to harness its value as a decarbonized power source. Against this backdrop, vigorous discussions are underway in Japan to finalize the 7th Strategic Energy Plan, with Cabinet approval anticipated within the current fiscal year.

The 58th Annual Conference will provide a platform to discuss the future of the nuclear industry, with a focus on accelerating the deployment of nuclear power outlined in the 7th Strategic Energy Plan, particularly in regard to new builds. Join us to learn more about the industry’s efforts towards innovative light-water reactor development, supply chain, financing, investment recovery schemes, securing human resources, etc. We’ll also showcase Fukushima’s recovery and engage with young leaders who are shaping the future of the nuclear industry.

Also scheduled to take the stage at the 58th Conference are TOKURA Masakazu, Chairman of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), and ONO Akira, Executive Vice President of Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings (TEPCO), who will speak about the need to secure supply capacity through nuclear power generation as a decarbonized power source to meet the expected increase in electricity demand, as well as the status of decommissioning work at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
