The 54th edition, featuring a star-studded lineup including CSIS’ President and CEO John J. Hamre, famous Japanese historian/writer Kozo Kaku and WNA’s Director General Sama Bilbao y Leon, will look at some of the key issues that people are facing around the world: changing global and economic conditions; climate change and energy including the use of nuclear power; and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. We will also address desired Japanese policies on energy and nuclear businesses in the context of the Sixth Strategic Energy Plan, on which Japan has commenced discussions. The opportunity will also be taken to look at the current decommissioning state at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station and to view the reconstruction of Fukushima ten years after the nuclear accident.
